About this journey

The red thread for this trip are bridges: the highest, the longest and the oldest. And plenty of exciting things in between. There will be surprises.

But there is a hidden personal reason for the trip:
One year ago I read a book 许三观卖血记 (Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, 2003) by 余华. I was spiritually deeply moved by the story and I felt a strong urge discover the most likely places where the action took place 60 years ago. The book is a fiction, of course. After some research I decided that Wuzhen (乌镇) town would be the location that best fits the novel's story. I'm quite excited to revisit the book.

Additionally 余华, the author, one of China's greatest, comes from city of Hangzhou which must be crossed on the way to Wuzhen.
