Bazaar

I only had a layover of five hours in Urumqi, the capital of the Uighur Autonomous Region . Who woul sit all that time in the airport? Better to jump the bus and see something new. For example the largest (supposedly, Wikipedia) Bazaar in the world. On the way from airport I noticed that the ticket to city was half price compared with Beijing or Hangzhou: 1 RMB.

Bazaar itself? Commerce, like everywhere else, only bilingual. But with local products and specialties. I enjoyed freshly squeezed granate juice and warm bread just taken out of the oven. By the way, the bread stand was the only one where local people were queuing up to shop. That is always a good sign making my tourist trap detector to turn green.
