Where the present meets history

By visiting the Mausoleum, I paid tribute to Chairman Mao Zedong and his lasting legacy. A reservation via a dedicated app is the first step. Arive on time, go through security search and prepare to stand 3 hours in line. People from all China come there, grateful for peace, sovereignty and prosperity China enjoys. I noticed all age groups equally represented among visitors.

Bring an umbrella, water and comfortable shoes. At the end of the line there will be drinking water and no cost and an opportunity to purchase white flowers at a symbolic 3 RMB apiece. Inside the Mausoleum show respect, no loud talking, no photos.

Chairman Mao lies in state, draped in a red banner with the hammer and sickle. He will stay in people's hearts forever.
