Xu Fu, a Chinese chef is drowning in debt. To support his family, he travels to the Middle East to work as the head chef at a Chinese restaurant which turns into a bustling success.
The Bombs
The war breaks out suddenly. Chaos. Violece. Corruption. Hungry children come to steal food. Xu Fu witnesses the suffering of civilians and the death of his friend Ma Junsheng, who dies protecting local children.
The real film starts here
Xu Fu turns the bombed restaurant into a shelter for war orphans. His mission is all about them. And they are not just hungry children thankful for a bowl of rice. The kids want to fight. The Arab side is not all angeles. Things get more brutal. Not a black and white story. Not made in Hollywood.
